Switzerland: customs formalities
Outside the European Union: transport is invoiced separately, and customs clearance and any duties remain the responsibility of the recipient. We give you the estimated amount before payment. Export documents are prepared by us and travel with the shipment.
Intra-EU VAT number
Businesses established in the European Union outside Portugal can be invoiced without VAT on presentation of a valid intra-EU VAT number, checked at the time of the order. Otherwise Portuguese VAT applies.
Transport pricing
Prices shown on the site do not include delivery. Transport costs are paid by the customer and quoted separately, based on the delivery address, the distance from our yard and the access conditions. We tell you the exact amount before any payment, and no order is charged without your agreement on that figure.
The cost depends on the distance, the size of the unit and the handling equipment required. Three cases, depending on access:
- Lorry with hydraulic arm - set down directly on the ground, clear access required.
- Container carrier with forklift - handling on site, load-bearing ground required.
- Mobile crane - for restricted access or stacking, charged in addition.
Site access
Allow roughly 20 m of clear space in line with the lorry for a 20-foot unit, 30 m for a 40-foot unit, and 4 m of free width. The ground must be firm and load-bearing. If in doubt, send us a photograph of the access before delivery and we will tell you what equipment to plan for.
Preparing the ground
Four level concrete pads under the corner castings are enough in most cases. They keep the floor off the ground and let water drain away.
Lead times
The lead times in the table above run from receipt of payment. Allow on average fourteen days between acceptance of the quotation and availability in Portugal, depending on the unit and any fitting-out requested. Made-to-order modules take three to five weeks.
Taking delivery
Check the condition of the unit on delivery and note any reservation on the consignment note before signing. Without a written reservation at the time of receipt, a transport damage claim becomes difficult to pursue with the carrier.
Order tracking
As soon as the unit leaves the yard, we e-mail you the transport reference and the carrier's name. You can check your order at any time on the track my order page, using the order number and the e-mail address used for the purchase.
Failed or delayed delivery
The carrier agrees a delivery window with you. If nobody is on site at the agreed time, or if access does not allow unloading, the journey is charged and a new date must be arranged: the cost of the second attempt is payable by the customer.
If delivery is more than ten working days later than the stated lead time, contact us: we open an enquiry with the carrier and keep you informed in writing. If the unit is lost in transit, we offer replacement or a full refund, as you prefer.
